Jimmy Phillips, 71, of Lake Charles, LA died Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Harbor Hospice Care Facility surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born on September 11, 1943 in Lake Charles, LA to Ralph and Mervyn Phillips. Pop loved golfing, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved being with his grandchildren during various sporting events taking every opportunity to see a game. Jimmy was a McNeese sports fan and followed them closely. Pop enjoyed his camp in Toledo Bend. He was known for treating everyone like family. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn Walker Phillips; three children, Mark Phillips and wife Laura of Lake Charles, LA, Charlie Phillips and wife Kelly of Lake Charles, LA, and daughter, Manette Pecorino and husband Mike of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren, Laken Cooley, Collin Comeaux, Grant Phillips, Garrett Phillips, Gabby Phillips, Gavin Phillips, Kristina Loftin, and Emily Pecorino; two great grandchildren, Peyton Dalovisio and Felicity Cooley. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at DeRouen Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes, LA.
