Joan Guillory

Joan Isobel Gammon Guillory, 95, of Lake Charles died at 5:45 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in a local care facility. Mrs. Guillory was born on August 16, 1918 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies. She was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Guillory belonged to the Order of the Easter Star. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children and their spouses, David Scott Guillory and Dianna of Lake Charles, John Edward "Ted" Guillory, MD and Celia of Covington, LA, Jeanine Guillory Bushnell and Craig of Lake Charles, and Brian A. Guillory, MD and Libby of Covington, LA; a brother, John Gammon of Port of Spain, Trinidad; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer S. "Frenchie" Guillory. A private graveside service at Orange Grove Cemetery will be held under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest Walker will officiate.
