Joan M. Bragg

Joan Marion Bragg, 89, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, in a local hospital. Born on July 29, 1924 to Ira Jackson Whisenant and Lila Margaret Jones Whisenant, Mrs. Bragg was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two sons, Larry E. Bragg and wife Helen of Jasper, Alabama and Jerry L. Bragg and wife Alice of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Debbie Bradley, Elizabeth Cormier, Larry Bragg, Jr., Todd Bragg, Ben Bragg, Jenny Bragg Lopez, Jason Bragg, and Andrew Bragg; fifteen great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Reverend Lloyd Elmer Bragg; one son, Jack Robert Bragg; one grandson, Jesse Lloyd Bragg; her parents; two sisters, June Whisenant Bragg and Effie Whisenant Howell; and one brother, Jack C. Whisenant. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Lamar Huffman will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas.
