Joan Marie Krieger

Joan Marie Krieger, 73, of Lake Charles, LA passed away peacefully in her residence on Monday, September 18, 2017. Joan was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 27, 1943 to Richard and Joan Fogarty Krieger.

Mrs. Krieger worked for several years as the purchasing agent for McNeese State University before retiring in 2016. She loved to play scrabble and work on crossword puzzles. As an avid reader, Joan looked forward to her trips to Books-A-Million. She also enjoyed working in her garden. The most precious use of her time was enjoying the company of her granddaughters, Charlie Cecile and Avery Elisabeth Buller.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Kathleen Krieger DePaola and her sister-in-law, Susan Krieger.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lorraine Dansereau Buller (Andrew) and James (J.D.) Dansereau (Debbie). Those who will especially miss her are her granddaughters, Charlie Cecile and Avery Elisabeth Buller. She also leaves three brothers Richard, Thomas (Margie) and Robert (Linda) Krieger, her brother-in-law, Nino DePaola and her aunt, Mary Krieger, along with several nephews and a niece.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4-6PM at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary being said at 6PM. A memorial service will be conducted beginning at 7PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
