Joann Cecile Borel

JoAnn Cecile Borel, 78, of Lake Charles, LA., passed away in the comfort of her home on May 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. JoAnn was born on October 6, 1938, in Sulphur, LA., to Perry Jasper and Mary Khoury Eason.

JoAnn was a Registered Nurse and worked for various dentists in the Lake Charles area. A devout Catholic, JoAnn served her church for many years as a lecture and CCD teacher at St. Margaret Catholic Church. JoAnn was a loving mother, a wonderful cook and she loved to dance.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her son, Perry George Borel (Kendra), and their children, Katelyn Elizabeth Borel, Alexander Scott Dougherty and Gavis Michael Dougherty; son, SSG Chyon Borel (Capt. Diana), U.S. Army, and daughter, Evangeline; daughter, Suzanne Borel and her children John Thomas Lonsberry and Teddy Wayne Dean; daughter, Stephanie Lynn Borel and her child Celisa Lyn Borel; daughter, Eve Thresa Boudreaux (Scott) and their children, Christian Kyl Conner, Colin Joseph Boudreaux, Ella Thresa Boudreaux and Madeline Jane Schmidt.

The family will receive guests at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2017, beginning at 10 AM. A Rosary will be recited at by Deacon Glen Viau at 12PM.

Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church starting at 1PM, Officiated by Father Nathan Long. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
