Joe Daigre

Joe Daigre, 71, of Lake Charles died Wednesday, June 06, 2018 in a local hospital.

 

Mr. Daigre was a native of Alexandria and has lived nearly fifty years in Lake Charles. He served the US National Guard and worked most of his life as an electrician. His favorite past time was working on or building hot rods, street rods and drag racing. He always loved fishing. Mr. Daigre will be remembered for his kind heart and doing for others. “He knew everyone and if he didn’t he was going to”.

 

He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of forty-nine years, Jane Aycock Daigre; son, Chad Joseph Daigre (Sandi); daughter, Alyson Daigre Doyle (Sean) and three grandchildren, Bailey Daigre, Nick Briscoe and Brannon Doyle, all of Lake Charles, one brother, Mike Daigre (May) of Baton Rouge; nieces and nephews, Roxanne Daigre, David Hollis, Susan Viator, Mary Turner and Nancy Hansen; lifelong family by heart, Lottie Courvelle and her daughters, Lindsay Ardoin and Haley Pole and many friends and extended family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem Joseph and Rhea Daigre; father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Myrtle Aycock and brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Nita Hollis.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
