Joe Millard Petty

Mr. Joe Millard Petty was born April 3, 1929 in Many, La. He passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Lake Charles after a short illness.

Mr. Petty worked at City Service for 22 years, then he was a real estate broker and developer. Most recently, he had returned to his favorite occupation, doing tractor and dozer work primarily for Ag Electric and Farmers Rice Mill.

Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent many days enjoying the outdoors in and around Southwest LA with his numerous friends.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rita Petty; one daughter, Donna and her husband Darril Martin of Lake Charles; two step daughters, Patsy Reeves and Mary Jane Casey both of Lake Charles; several grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Marshal and Addie Alford Petty of Many; his first wife, Wanda Wright Petty; two step sons, Melvin J. Sepulvado and Jimmy L. Sepulvado.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00AM in Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 4PM-8Pm with a scripture service at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Saturday at 8AM until time of service.
