Joe Whitfield, 36, passed away on November 27, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on June 9, 1988 in Lake Charles, LA to Scott and Tricia Whitfield.
Joe worked hard to earn the rank of Eagle Scout which he was always proud of. He loved rebuilding bikes, hot wheels cars, and constructing Lego projects. Joe will be remembered as a hardworking and generous man who loved his family and enjoyed making people laugh. Since 2012, he has enjoyed a successful career with Canal Barge working as a Lead Field Operations Dispatcher. Joe will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Amy Whitfield; daughters, Aubrey and Khloe; parents, Scott and Tricia Whitfield; sister, Becca Whitfield Bunch; niece, Abby Bunch; grandmother, Gail Whitfield; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and other beloved family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Barbara Landry, Luke Landry, Jr., and Hilman Whitfield.
His funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. Rev. Steven Porter will officiate. Burial will take place in New Ritchie Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a time of sharing stories about Joe’s life at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
