Joel Christian Alexander

Joel Christian Alexander was born in Lake Charles, LA to Taiga and Kenneth Alexander Jr. on February 16, 1999.

He was a lifelong resident of Grand Lake, Louisiana, growing up there and graduating from Grand Lake High School, class of 2017. 

Joel was easily recognized by his infectious smile, his witty humor and boisterous personality that made everyone laugh. He enjoyed video games, spending time with his girlfriend, his friends, his brother, and cousin Ian, working out at the gym each day after work at Lowe’s, helping his mom and Maw-Maw Judy with household projects, and running the roads listening to his favorite music. 

His Paw-Paw (Kelly Vigo) founded The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Lake Charles, where Joel attended church all his life.  It was after his Paw-Paw Kelly’s passing that he began to take a stronger hold on his relationship with God for help with life’s issues.  Joel left this world on Monday, June 21, 2021 when he went to be with the Lord and was also reunited with his Paw-Paw Kelly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Taiga  Alexander; father, Kenneth Alexander, Jr.; little brother, Carson  Alexander; his Maw-Maw Judy Vigo; grandparents, Altha (Kenneth Sr.) Alexander; Uncles, Louis (Karen) Vigo; Jason (Tracy) Alexander; Michael (Jacee) Alexander; Matthew Alexander; his Great Uncle Bob Daugherty (Nannette); his extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins, his entire Vineyard Church family; the love of his life, Katelynn Granger; and his favorite cat Moby. 

Visitation is at the Lake Charles Vineyard Church, 9541 Gulf Hwy, on Friday, June 25, 2021 beginning at 4pm until 8pm. Visitation will resume Saturday June 26, 2021 at 9am until the celebration of Joel’s life led by Vineyard Pastor Zack Rodriguez begins at 11am with burial to follow at Prien Memorial Park.
