Joelyn Bihm Buford

Joelyn Bihm Buford, 76, born April 9, 1945, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother,  great grandmother, and friend. Joelyn was born in Rayne, LA then moved to Hackberry, LA where she was a lifelong resident. In 1963 she married her loving husband of 58 years. Joelyn had a passion for sewing and any kind of needle craft. She was known for her infectious smile, and her kind, compassionate and loving heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lee Buford; son, Binky (Rhoda) Buford; daughter, Alissa (David) Hargrove; son Lancey (Jennifer) Buford; and Jake (Hope) Buford. Joelyn was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Burney and Eva Bihm; sisters, Hazel Ellender, Freddine Hinton, Marguerite “Bob-O” Hebert; and grandson, Eric Burrell Buford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Wednesday, November 10, 2021, in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church of Hackberry. Burial will follow at Hackberry Community Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur.  The family will receive friends and family at St. Peter’s the Apostle Catholic Church Hall 4 – 7p.m., Tuesday with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:30pm.
