John Albert Woutila, 75, of Lake Charles died at 1:40 PM on Monday, February 6, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mr. Woutila was born on April 7, 1936 in Long Island, NY. He joined the U.S. Air National Guard and served for 8 years before serving in the U.S. Air Force as a flight Engineer where he was known as "Flying Finn". He retired after 20 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant and was a member of the Sergeant's Association. Mr. Woutila then worked for Boeing and retired from Northrop Grumman as a lead electrical systems specialist.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing airplane flying games on the computer. Mr. Woutila's job allowed him to make great friends all over the world.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Fredericka Woutila of Lake Charles; a daughter, Leslie Woutila Colombe of Rapid City, SD; a brother, Robert Woutila of Sylvania, OH; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Rhea, and Shantelle Colombe.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Andrew and John A. Woutila and his father, John Wayne Woutila.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in Johnson Funeral Home.
