John Allen "Squeaky" Maitre

John Allen Maitre (Squeaky), 73, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2020.

He was born on November 28, 1947 in Scott, Louisiana to Russie and Loretta Maitre.

His love and joy were his children and grandchildren. Mr. Maitre enjoyed cooking for his family, watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU sports, and spending time with his family. He worked at Boyce Machinery for many years before going full time into the ministry where held several positions. He fought a long battle but came out victorious.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Cynthia Maitre; children, Angela Fruge (Mitch) and Sissy Haney (Terry); grandchildren, Dustin Fruge, Emily Gwatney, and Aubrey Clark; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kohen, Drake, and Sophie; and sister, Elaine Kiff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, and three sisters.

His funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at The Grand Church located at 205 First Avenue in Kinder, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Dan Landry will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Pine Hill Cemetery in Iowa, LA. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the start of service.
