John Amos “Bud” Faulk, 76, of Grand Lake, LA, died at 7:11 AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Faulk was born April 6, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA, graduated from Grand Lake High School in 1960. He was appointed special deputy by Sheriff Claude Eagleson during Hurricane Audrey. He worked as an A-Operator for twenty-eight years, retired from Conoco in 1990. He was the owner / operator of Bud Faulk’s Duck Hunting Club for over thirty-five years. Mr. Faulk was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was a master carpenter and will always be remembered as a loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather. He loved spending time with people and never met a stranger.
Mr. Faulk is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Ethel Crador Faulk; son, John K. Faulk and wife Sarina of Beaumont, TX; daughters, Gerry Richoux and husband Royce of Grand Lake, Ginger Wright and husband Paul of Saint Tammany Parish, LA, and Sheila Ann Faulk of Grand Lake, LA; mother, Mary Elizabeth “Eva” Benoit Faulk; brothers, Charles Faulk and wife Margie of Mississippi; and James Jimmy Faulk and wife Kathy of Lafayette, LA; sister, Judy Ann Poole and husband Daniel “Punch” of Grand Lake; grandchildren, Marie Robinson, Tabitha Richoux, Johnny Richoux, Randy Richoux, Amber Sheppard, Nicholas Sheppard, and Keighan Gabe Precht; and great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Mark, Joseph, Clara, Cullen, Charles, Katherine, Lauren, and Caden.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos L. Faulk.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
