John “Wayne” Bellard, 71, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lake Charles to the late Milton and Mildred Bellard Sr.
Wayne graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1972 and later attended McNeese State University. He dedicated over 20 years of service as Housekeeping Supervisor at St. Patrick’s Hospital. Wayne’s commitment to his family and faith was unwavering, and he was a beloved figure in the community. He cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren, and was especially known for his culinary talents, particularly his famous French toast, which became a cherished family tradition. As a devout Catholic, Wayne’s faith and his family were central to his life. Additionally, he proudly served in the United States Marines as a rifleman.
Those left to cherish his memories are wife of over 25 years, Lorena Morrison; children, Maketia Williams (Damian) of Westlake, LA , Milton Morrison of Iowa, LA, Tonisha Murray of Houston, TX; brothers, Milton “Butch” Bellard Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, Robert “Billy” Bellard of Lake Charles, LA, Gerald Bellard (Constance) of Lake Charles, LA, David “Rene” Bellard of Lake Charles, Rufus “Charles” Bellard of Houston, TX, Curtis “C.W.” Bellard of Houston, TX, Michael “Mike” Bellard of Houston, TX and Randolph “Scott” Bellard (Debra) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Adelyn Willams, Allyson Williams, Ayaan Williams of Westlake, LA and Ayson Ned of Lake Charles, LA; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Dallas Williams and Ayla Ned; brothers, Willie Bellard Sr. and Patrick Morris; sister, Rosa Bellard; godchild and niece, Jayniya Bellard.
A private graveside will be held at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
