John Dickerson

John Leonard Dickerson, 74, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 20, 2021.

He was born on March 12, 1947 in Lake Charles, LA to Luther and Essie Dickerson.

He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War before beginning a career as an operator at Citgo for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a jack of all trades who could fix anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Dickerson; sons, James (Nadine) Dickerson of Carlyss, LA and Jason (Bernadine) Dickerson of Westlake, LA; daughter, Jennifer (Danny) Hernandez of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Meghin, John, Michael (Josie), Ryan, Lauren, Eric, Matt, Darren, Wesley and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Luther Wayne Dickerson.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. Bill Saxby will officiate. Burial will take place in Dry Creek Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Pearl or the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff building fund.
