John Dudley Duhon, 79, of Lake Charles, LA died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in his residence.
Mr. Duhon was born December 12, 1932 in Oberlin, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for almost sixty years. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Duhon worked at Olin Corp for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1990 as a shift foreman. He was a member of South City Christian Church, where he previously served as a deacon and as treasurer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He will always be remembered as a wonderful provider and family man who loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Duhon is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Lucille Manuel Duhon; son, Richard Duhon and wife Anita of Lake Charles; sisters, Ethel B. Finnerty of Baton Rouge and Rena Mae Franks of DeQuincy, LA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Duhon Evans, Eric Duhon, both of Orange, TX, and John Aaron Duhon of Lake Charles; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Duhon.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 30, 2011 at South City Christian Church. Reverend Robby Bacon will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 PM to 6:00 PM and continue on Friday from 9:30 AM until the start of the service at the church.
