John E. Brown

John Ernest Brown, 55, of Lake Charles died Saturday, October 23, 2010 in a local hospital.

Mr. Brown was a life resident of Lake Charles. He served the United States Navy, during Vietnam, aboard evacuation ships in the Gulf of Tonkin. He was a graduate of McNeese State University and Southern University. He worked all of his life as a self employed Attorney. Mr. Brown was a well respected attorney throughout the Lake area community and was a member of numerous legal organizations throughout his career. He was an avid reader. Mr. Brown will be most remembered for his story telling and his sense of humor.

His greatest times were shared with his family as he was a loving and devoted husband and father. He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of twenty five years, Dorothy McCain; daughter Jessica Brown and son, Jackson Brown, all of Lake Charles; one brother, Torey Brown; two sisters, Roxann Martin and husband Robin and Sabra Brown, all of Lake Charles and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Broussard Brown.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation Tuesday will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
