John Edward Doucet, 73, of Ragley, LA passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Doucet was born in Lake Charles and has lived the past 45 years in Ragley. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He worked his younger years in flooring and retired after thirty years as a Longshoreman for the Port of Lake Charles. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Mr. Doucet enjoyed working his farm, tending the cattle and animals of the farm and baleing hay. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and family gatherings.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of fifty-one years, Lois Landry Doucet of Barnes Creek; three sons, James Clay Doucet and wife Sandy of New Mexico, Chris Dale Doucet and wife Christine Broussard of Westlake and Chad Joseph Doucet and wife Sonja of Reeves; five grandchildren, Amber Doucet of Stillwater, OK, Dustin Doucet of Clovis, New Mexico, Nicole Doucet of Westlake, Casie Doucet of Westlake and David John Doucet of Reeves; four brothers, Burt and Norman Doucet, both of Lake Charles, Richard Doucet and J.C. Doucet , both Beaumont; one sister, Viola Thibodeaux of Lake Charles and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Waller and Mary Bellon and one brother, Joe Doucet.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Glenn Ducharme will officiate. Interment will follow in Creel Cemetery in Camp Pearl. Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
