John Herbert Troesser

September 21, 1941 — January 1, 2024

John Herbert Troesser, 82 years old of Sulphur entered the gates of heaven on January 1, 2024.  He passed away peacefully at his home.  He was born on September 21, 1941, in Frankenstein, Missouri.

He was a LaSalette Priest until 1976.  He offered Catholic Communion Services at the High Hope Care Center until 2020.  He worked offshore on an oil rig out of Cameron.  He worked at Lyondell Basell until 2003 when he retired.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Cursillistas. He was a devout member of the St. John Bosco choir for many years.

John was a beloved husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather, cousin and nephew.  He was devoted to God and committed to his family and friends.  He handcrafted nativities for his loved ones and was a true craftsman at heart.  He enjoyed gardening and feeding the animals.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Vicki Troesser; two daughters, Kristi Doucet (Laben Templet, Jr.) and Kelli Mousset (Xavier); seven grandchildren; Kaytlin Doucet, Allee Blackburn (Baylor), Molli Miller, Adah Doucet, Waylon Miller, Scotti Clare Doucet and Jon Mousset.  He had three chosen daughters, Theresa Lutrell (Steven), Sarah LeBrun (Daniel) and Tammy Shriver (Dennis); siblings, Josephine Rustemeyer, Florence Schafer (Dan), and David Richard (Ellen); and sister in law, Jane Troesser.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Troesser and Regina Dudenhoffer Troesser; his siblings, Clarence Troesser (Loretta, deceased), Dorothy Rustemeyer (Martin, deceased), Rita Therese Troesser, Norman Troesser, Mary Brandt (Leo, deceased), and brother-in-law, Harold.

We will always cherish the love and memories that John has left behind.  May his soul rest in peace and the perpetual light shine upon him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10 AM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, La.  Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM, with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 PM, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 AM until 9:15 AM.
