John Leslie Broussard

John Leslie Broussard, 68, of Lake Charles died at 10:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mr. Broussard was born on September 16, 1947 in Lake Charles and lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and received his BA in physical education from McNeese College. Mr. Broussard retired from the Lake Charles Fire Department and belonged to the International Association of Fire Fighters Local #561.

He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Those left to cherish his memory are a brother, Michael David Broussard (Emma) of Lake Charles; a sister, Rose Bohannon of Moss Bluff; three nephews, Leslie Broussard (MaryAnn) of Lake Charles, Jeramie Broussard (Michelle) of Lafayette, and Toby Neal Bohannon of Moss Bluff; a niece, Sarah Ruth Whitfield of Moss Bluff; four great nieces, Brooke and Madelyn Broussard, Ruthie Rose Whitfield, and Ahlyssa Bohannon; and five great nephews, Jase Broussard, Kaleb Richard-Adcock, and Kaden, Koltyn, and Freddy Bohannon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and John Broussard; a nephew, Christopher Broussard; and a grandmother, Audalie Broussard.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
