John Lewis Murphy

John Murphy, 87, of Sulphur, LA died on December 21, 2022, in New Orleans after a brief illness. John was born on July 27, 1935, in Abbeville, LA to Fred and Addie Murphy. He enjoyed watching football, golfing, and working crossword puzzles. John loved his time with family the most, especially Andie and Brody.

Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Tammy Leger and husband Jaceson; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Lola Mae Willis and husband Ray and Karon Lea Murphy.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virgie Murphy; daughter, Jackie Lynn Murphy; stepdaughter, Sharon Cormier; parents; and siblings, Russell “Rusty” Murphy, Fred “Bud” Murphy, and Frank “Butter” Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Reverend Jeremy Blocker officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
