John Mcgraw, Jr.

John McGraw, Jr., 90, of Lake Charles died at 11:19 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in his residence. Born in Shreveport, LA on January 18, 1923 to John McGraw, Sr. and Nancye Jeffries McGraw. Mr. McGraw graduated from Tulane University in 1944 with his BS in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta, Fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa, Leadership Honor Society. He was Vice President of Industrial Construction, Co. for over thirty years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed traveling with his family in their motorhome, and particularly enjoyed his membership in the Family Motor Coach Association, Cruising Cajuns & Texas Outlaw Motorhome Clubs. He was a member and former Vestryman of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, the church that his father helped found. Mr. McGraw is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Mary Frances "MEF" Dimmick McGraw; three sons, John McGraw Norman and wife, Debby, of King City, CA; Forres McGraw and wife, Joan, of Dallas, and Tim McGraw and wife, Joyce, of Ragley; two daughters, Terri Saliba and husband, André, of Alexandria, VA and Jerri Hurst and husband, Billy, of Bush, LA; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Nancye McGraw; and a sister, Jean McGraw Ladd. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Father Peter Cook will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at the church from 1:00 PM until the start of the service. A celebration of life will follow the service at The Verandah at Graywood. As per the family's request, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
