John Edmund Mouton Sr passed away after a brief battle with cardiac issues Sunday December 22, 2024.
John is preceded in death by his son John Edmund Mouton Jr, sister, brother, and his parents.
John is survived by his loving wife Connie Hungerford Mouton, son Scott Allen Mouton, and twin grandchildren John Alexander Mouton and Amanda Patricia Mouton.
John was a loving family man and will be missed by all. He led a very diverse life full of amazing friends, family, and business associates. John was a musician who was most known for playing bass guitar with bands such as The Glades, GG Shinn, Boogie Kings, and even opened for Circus Circus in Las Vegas and Jimmy Hendrix in Baton Rouge. His musical bandmates, and people his music introduced him to, are far too numerous to name, but all an important part of his journey in becoming the man we all knew and loved. John’s love of music carried through his entire life, and he still would occasionally sit in and play a gig. Family events often included music as well.
John was also a very renowned businessman. He owned and ran several successful businesses in sales and insurance. His first successful mobile home dealership was United Homes originally opened with his business partner Guy Mosley. Blue Heron RV Park is his most current business venture. John has held a longstanding relationship due to past businesses with LMHA (Louisiana Mobile Home Association) and he was also President of the LMHA board for 4 terms 1989, 1997, 2008, 2014. He was also a devoted member of the Rotary Club.
A memorial service will be at 3:00pm Saturday January 4, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home ,4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA 70604. Visitation will be from 10:00am till 3:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude or AHA, or any non-profit of your choice, especially those who assists both patient and family as that was kind of help, he would want provided.
We truly appreciate the outpouring of love and memories. However, please allow the family some time following the services for private reflection and grieving.
