John O. Jones

John Jones, 79, of Lake Charles, died Monday December 27, 2010 at his Lake Charles residence with his family at his side.

He was born in Port Arthur, TX on March 27, 1931 and was a retired truck driver and a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Avis Cox; daughter, Carolyn Jones Redd, and grandson, Jeremy Jones. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 61 years, Theresa Mae Roy Jones, Lake Charles; three sons, Leonard Jones and wife Susan, Houston, TX, Carl Wayne Jones and wife Mary of Dayton, TX and Ronald Jones, Lake Charles, four grand children, Steven Soileau and wife Kimmi, William J. Jones, Brian P. Jones, and Katelyn Jones; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cameron, and Slayton Soileau.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Wednesday at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Father Joseph Jessing officiating. Burial will be in Consolota Cemetery.
