John Paul "Johnny" Madison

John Paul “Johnny” Madison, 82, of Grand Lake, LA, died at 1:52 AM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

Mr. Madison was born April 29, 1938 in Lake Charles, LA and was a 1956 graduate of LaGrange High School.  He served his country in the U. S. Army National Guard.  Mr. Madison worked for Hercules in the maintenance department for a number of years and then was the owner and operator of Mr. D’s on the Bayou.  He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.  During his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.  His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Madison is survived by his daughter, Susan Madison Materne and husband Daniel Materne; son, Blake Edward Madison and fiancée Sierra Nichole Babineaux; brother, James “Jimbo” Madison; sister, Bobbie Whaley; grandchildren, Katlyn Anne Materne, Amber Lynn Materne, Tyler Leon Materne and Cason Mark Madison; nephew, Terry Whaley; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Beverly Edith Daws Madison; son, Mark Edward Madison; parents, Robert and Louise Madison; brother, Robert Lee Madison, Jr.; and sister, Betty Hathway.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.   will officiate.  Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at University Baptist Church on Monday from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM, with a rosary at 12:00 PM.
