Funeral services for Mr. John R. Bud Rollins, 80, of Sulphur, will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 10am in Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Peggy Foreman & Rev. Leon Boggs will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Hackberry Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7th from 3pm " 9pm, with a Rosary at 7pm, and resume on Monday morning from 8am " until time of service. Mr. Rollins passed away on Friday, November 05, 2010 in a local hospital. He is preceded in death by his Parents: Elizabeth & D.O. Rollins, Sr.; Half brother: Paul Rollins; 2 Sisters: Una Beth Rollins and Sue Rollins. John Robert Rollins was a native of Alvin, Texas & longtime resident of Hackberry. He served his country as Sgt 1st Class in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He owned & operated John Rs Shell Service Station in Hackberry for 21 years. Mr. Rollins was elected Police Juror for 4 years and after 2 years resigned to become the Road Superintendent of Cameron Parish until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars.
