John Randall "Buddy" Sartin

John Randall Sartin, 46 years old, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on December 11, 1975 to John Riley Sartin and Betty Ann Meche Sartin in Naples, Italy.

He spent his childhood in Italy, Georgia, Massachusetts, Okinawa and Kentucky. He was a graduate of Bell City High School and a resident of Bell City, LA for the last 34 years. John had many interests, including wresting, music and movies. He was a lifelong fan of Superman. He enjoyed various activities such as bowling, playing Texas Hold’em, and spending time with family and friends. John was very funny, smart, and politically savvy, and his kind and generous spirit made him everyone’s buddy.

Those left to cherish his memory and miss him terribly are his mother, Betty Sartin; his sisters, Lisa Pagan and her spouse, Marty, Susan Cormier and her spouse, Barry, and Veta Sartin and her life-partner, Steven Gremillion; his nieces, Hailey Fender, April “Pretty Girl” Deshotel (John’s favorite person), Mickey Pagan, Fayrhon Hoffpauir; his nephews, Zachary Deshotel, Shawn Pritchett, Nicholas Sartin, and Alex Castillo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father (and best buddy) John Riley Sartin; his maternal grandparents, Elton and Mary Meche; his paternal grandparents, John and Lucille Sartin; and his uncles, Mike, Joe and David Meche.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The family held an informal memorial in the privacy of John’s home.
