John Ray Harville

John Ray Harville, 73, of Lake Charles passed away at 11:34 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Harville, his family’s adviser and compass, was born on June 9, 1950 in Lake Charles where he was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Lake Charles High School. He began his career as an operator with Hercules which later became Lionellbasell before he retired. Mr. Harville was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he served as an usher and later became an active member of New Life Church.

He kept his family close to his heart and cherished the time spent with them, especially when they were in Florida or Colorado . He lived for planning the next family vacation and was always ready for a road trip with his bride. In his spare time he took pleasure in golfing, eating, playing the guitar, and woodworking. He was the proud maker of numerous wooden benches for his kids.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Patricia Lognion Harville; daughters, Sherri Harville Veron and Mandi Harville; grandchildren, Bonnie Harville, Alex Broussard, and Anna, Addy, and Olivia Veron; nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Mike Fuselier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Bonnie Harville and a very special uncle, Jake Hebert.

Private services will be held under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery.
