John Searcy

John Douglas Searcy was born in Lake Charles on December 18, 1958. He passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 30, after a lengthy battle with cancer. John worked for 16 years in the family business, The Print Service, where he made fond memories with his daughters. He was a "family man" in the truest sense. He loved spending time with his family, calling them together whenever and where ever he could. When talking about his family, the term "extreme" was used to describe his love. John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sheila. John has two daughters, Stephanie and Anna, both from Lake Charles. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Searcy. John has two sisters and one brother. Sisters, Vivian Morein and husband Mike of Sulphur and Lisa Searcy of Lake Charles and brother, Mike Searcy of Lake Charles. He is also survived by his two nieces, Jennifer and Sarah Morein. John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Mable Leaggo, along with his father Robert Searcy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 10:00 AM, in the chapel at Johnson Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Lonnie Gothrup. Visitation for John will be from 4:00 until 9:00PM on Tuesday, December 3, and will continue on Wednesday morning from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
