John Steve Trim, 73, of Lake Charles passed away at 11:30 AM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 in his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Trim was born on April 30, 1942 in Abbeville, LA. He was raised and lived all of his life in Lake Charles where he was a graduate of Marion High School. Mr. Trim retired from the Farmers Rice Mill after many years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a hard working man who adored his grandchildren and was a loving husband and father. Mr. Trim was an avid fisherman and was a dedicated football fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of more than 54 years, Earline Joyce Stineff Trim; three daughters, Wendy Landry (Pat), Aimee Bordelon (Chris Robinson), and Mandy Trim (Chad) all of Lake Charles; three sons, Scott Trim (Patty) of San Antonio, Jeff Trim (Diane) and Kirk Trim (Pam) both of Lake Charles; a sister, Isabelle Newman of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, Marcus, Michael, Kristen, Brody, Sydney, Tyler, Hannah, Evan, Isaac, and Yvette; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernest and Elouise Primeaux Trim; three sisters, Vergie Comeaux, JoAnn Fontenot, and Corinne “Cis” Occhiogrosso; an infant brother; and a grandson, Garrett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
