John William Elliff

John Elliff, 79, of Lake Charles died at 5:10 PM Saturday, March 10, 2012 in his residence with his loving family at his side.

John was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to the parents of Reba and William Elliff He has lived in Lake Charles since 2008. John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He lived most of his life in Texas. John worked as a Director for over 35 years at Nue Ces County Parks and Recreation. He also worked for the Texas Highway Department constructing roads and highways. John loved gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by one son John Elliff II of Pittsburg, PA, two daughters Kathleen Guillory and her husband Troy and Jenniffer Lee all of Lake Charles, LA, one sister Rheda Ward of Corpus Christi, TX, six grandchildren: Miranda Craft and husband Craig, Brandon Lee and wife Kayla, Katrina Lee, Austin Lee, Adam Guillory and Emma Guillory.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Ann Harris Elliff, his parents Reba and William Leo Elliff, one grandchild Charles Adam Lee, one sister Billie Jo Scott, and one brother Hicks Elliff.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. at 6:00 PM at First United Methodist Church Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. The body was cremated. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00PM-until the time of services at the church.
