Johnny Ellender, 61, of Sulphur, passed away on August 20, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11 am at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Gothrup officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, Louisiana. Visitation will begin on Monday, August 22, 2011 from 10 am " 9 pm at Robison Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday from 8am until service time. Johnny was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He worked in the oil field for many years. He was an active member of Houston River Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a well loved member of the community and never met a stranger. Johnny is survived by his three brothers: Benny Ellender and wife Debbie of Sulphur, Bradley Ellender and wife Missy of Sulphur, and Pat Ellender and wife Ros of Sulphur; three sisters: Sandra Faulk of Sulphur, Mary McClintock and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, and Judy Ellender of Orange, Texas; longtime partner and love of his life, Edith Broussard; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family of The Hope House and Houston River Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Jacob (Jake) and Teresa Ellender.
