Johnny "John" Charles Trouth

John Charles Trouth, 74, of Sulphur, LA, died at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in a local care facility.

Mr. Trouth was born July 29, 1942 in Gladewater, TX and was raised in Longview, TX where he was a 1960 graduate of Pine Tree High School. He attended McNeese State College and served his country in the U.S. Army. He has been a longtime resident of the Sulphur, LA area and established Trouth Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal, Inc in 1980. Mr. Trouth has been an active lifetime member of the NRA, and was a past president and member of the Friends of the NRA. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved woodworking and was an arrowhead enthusiast. Throughout his life, he always had a German Shepherd, as they held a special place in his heart. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed dearly.

Mr. Trouth is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Julia Holloman Trouth; son, John “Rusty” Trouth of Sulphur; daughters, Lisa Trouth Kelly and husband Carl of Sulphur and Vikki Trouth Shearman and husband Paul of Sulphur, LA; step-sons, Nicholas W. Lewing of Metairie, LA and Zachary P. Lewing of Eureka, CA; sister, Laura Trouth Turner and husband Joel of Sulphur; brothers, James W. Trouth and wife Charlotte of Westlake, LA and Richard Russell Trouth and wife Pat of Sulphur, LA; five grandchildren, John Trouth, Grey Shearman, Foster Shearman, Maddox Poole Lewing and Grant Kelly; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Ralph and Louise Bell Trouth.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Willie Bellard will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and continue on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service.
