Johnny Louis Courville

Johnny L. Courville, 78, of Lake Charles passed on to heaven at 1:50 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was a native of Basile and lived in Lake Charles for the past thirty years. Mr. Courville retired from the U. S. Navy after twenty-two years of service. After retiring from the Navy he worked for El Paso Natural Gas as a welding inspector and then worked in sales. He was very active in volunteer work as being on the Board of Directors for Families helping families and also working for the Louisiana Injured Workers Union. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and also enjoyed his poker games. He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Beverly Jones Courville; three sons, Bernard Courville and wife Kathy of Eunice, John Courville, and Derek Courville and wife Kim all of Lake Charles; four daughters, Judy Cormier and husband Doug of Weatherford, TX, Deborah Davis and husband Tommy, Marjorie Miller and husband Kenny, and Christen Flowers and husband Joe all of Lake Charles; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sons, Alex Glenn Courville and Timothy John Courville. His Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplin Robin Norris will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 PM until time of service, Saturday, in the funeral home.
