Jonathan Dwayne Chretien

August 23, 1981 — December 4, 2021

Jonathan Dwayne Chretien, 40, of Lake Charles LA, passed away in his home on Saturday December 4, 2021. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended Galveston College. He moved on to work for the Port of Lake Charles as a Longshoreman for 20yrs in addition to working at Chennault International Airport.

Jonathan was an All-State Football and Baseball player. Sports were his passion. He was Drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 2000 MLB draft. Since the age of 16 he traveled the country playing softball with family and friends on the Gamblers Softball Team.

He married Ashley Hathaway Chretien with whom they had three beautiful children. Jonathan was a human Teddy Bear with a heart as big as the earth he walked. His kind and thoughtful spirit made him loved and adored by everyone that had the pleasure of being in his presence. He loved his family above all else and would do anything for anyone that asked. The void that remains where his love and presence resided can only be filled with the loving memories of this beautiful soul, we were blessed in having been a part of.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandparents Hollin Sr. & Leona Chretien and Ollie & Jennie Cobb.

He leaves to cherish his memory; a daughter Madison Chretien and sons Madden and Maddox Chretien. Parents Lash Sr. and Artie Faye Chretien; Brothers: Lash Jr. and Julius (TaShawna) Chretien; Sister, Gertinna (Jason) Simmons; Nieces, Katelyn (Cooper), Carrington and Caydence Chretien, Kirstyn and Hayleigh Simmons; Nephews, Lash III Chretien and Jason Simmons Jr.; Godbrothers, Therrance, Dentrick and Sharome Chretien; his brother by-love, Jacob Hathaway; and the mother to his children, Ashley Hathaway Chretien.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Vineyard Lake Charles beginning at 5pm to 8pm. A Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial led by Father Wayne LeBleu will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 beginning at 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens.
