Jonathan Edward Beatty passed away in his home on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.


Jonathan was born on January 25, 1974 in Lake Charles. He graduated from Barbe High School and attended McNeese State University in Computer Science. At the time of his death, He was employed by Southern Technologies.


Jonathan loved playing golf, computer games, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and his companion, Buddy, a rescued Jack Russell Terrier. He was always generous of his time and help, having a real servant's heart and a great friend. Jonathan was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.


Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Kevin and Cindy Beatty of Lake Charles, his grandmother, Merle Spinks, Uncles and Aunts, Ray and Cheryl Mose of Lake Charles, Joey and Paulette Spinks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Ned and Sue Beatty of Minden, LA; Charlotte and Sue Dorroh of Lake Charles, cousins, Melinda and Christian Kitzmiller, Melissa and Matthew McElveen of Lake Charles, Deanne Grider of Linden, TX, Shannon Thornton of Shreveport, LA and Cole Thornton of Sibley; and many family members and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert Spinks and Joe and Ruth Dorroh.


His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve James and Reverend Bart Glatt will officiate. Interment will be in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of service in the funeral home.


Serving as Pallbearers will be close friends, Eric Steen, Kendell LeJeune, Sammy Hayes, Shawn Davis, Chris Lore, and Erick Dupre.


The family request Memorial Donations to the Humane Society of Lake Charles.
