Joseph Curtis "Curt" Bertrand, 56, of Grand Lake, LA died on Friday, July 4, 2014 in a local hospital. Curt was born August 23, 1957 in Lake Charles, LA, raised in Creole, LA, and lived in Lake Charles for most of his life. He returned to Grand Lake, in 2005. "Wolfman" as he was remembered, retired from the Cameron Parish Police Jury where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Creole, LA and was a member of the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). He loved watching sports and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. Mr. Bertrand is survived by his son, Carlin Bertrand and wife Diana of Grand Lake, LA; sisters, Beverly Salter, Brenda Grimm and husband Dave and Cindy Bell and husband James, all of Lake Charles; best friend, Jerry Nunez; grandchildren, Allison, Haleigh, Kaylyn, and D.J.; great-grandchild, Bree; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden Billy and Geneva Faye Bertrand; and brother, John Robert Bertrand. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will follow in Chenier Perdue Cemetery in Creole, LA. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
