Joseph Fontenot

Joseph Fontenot, 80, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, September 02, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Fontenot was born in Crowley and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He served the United States Air Force. He worked as a Carpenter primarily as Foreman or Supervisor with the Carpenter's Local #953. He was a Master Carpenter with countless requests for his experience with local refineries. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid sports fan and working on projects at home.

He leaves to honor his memory, his daughter, Jodi Higginbotham and husband David of Ragley; two grandchildren, Justin Higginbotham of Lake Charles and Kristin Higginbotham of Moss Bluff and one sister, Kay Lynn Fontenot of Westlake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Charlene Fontenot; his parents, Thomas and Dora Fontenot; two brothers, Albert and Bobby Fontenot and two sisters, Lula Mae Myers and Gloria Myers.

Funeral services were private in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Prien Memorial Park.
