Joseph Glaston Chavis

Joseph Glaston Chavis, 76, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:00 AM on Monday, March 23, 2015 in a local care facility. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Josie Dell Chavis, Clarisa Charles, Davy Brown and Marie Jones; brothers, Alfred Chavis and James Chavis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and longtime friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Beatrice Chavis; sisters, Demetrice Goffney and Cleo Bushnell; and two brothers, Salbert Chavis and Peanue Chavis. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of a rosary at 12:00 PM.
