Joseph "Joe" Anthony Pago

May 2, 1953 — December 18, 2023

Joseph “Joe” Anthony Pago, 70, of Sulphur, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Joe worked for the City of Sulphur for 29 years before retiring and moving on to S.P.A.R. for an additional 13 years. One of his many duties for the City of Sulphur was putting up Christmas lights in the “Grove” and all around the city. Joe enjoyed baseball while his son was growing up in the sport and they would spend countless hours practicing together. He had a passion for bass fishing and would go fishing every chance he could. Joe loved to go fishing with his nephews, family and good friends. His trophy bass was finally caught recently from Caney Lake weighing in at over 8 lbs.! Joe was a lifelong member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church of Sulphur. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #8978 and a sponsor of LaSalette Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Joe met Janie back in high school and have been together ever since. His loves call him Paw Paw Joe, and they would spend lots of time together where he would push them in the swing all while teaching them their letters, numbers, address, etc. Joe was a family man in every sense of the word. His family was his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Janie Chargois Pago; son, Matthew Pago and wife Alaina; brothers, Joseph Hammy Pago Jr. and wife Earline, Ronald J Pago; granddaughters, Gianna Catherine Pago, Siena Clare Pago; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hammy Pago Sr., and Ruby DeVille Pago; brother-in-law and best friend, Henry Chargois.
