Joseph "Joe" Soirez

Joseph R “Joe” Soirez, 87, of Hackberry, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 in his residence.  He was a native of Abbeville, LA.  Joe was a retired electrician.  After retiring, he became a commercial fisherman. 

Joe is survived by his wife, Sadie Benoit Soirez; three daughters, Lois Soirez, Kattie Toups and husband, Terry of Hackberry and Donna “Sissy” Hebert and husband Richard of Devers, TX; two sons, Donald Soirez of Hackberry and Carroll Soirez and wife Sheilah of Moss Bluff; six grandsons, William Toups, Jason Toups, David Hebert, Ryan Hebert and wife Kristian, Luke Soirez and wife Lauren and Joseph Toups; two granddaughters, Karissa Patin and Jennifer Toups; and two great granddaughters, Karoline Patin and Nova Hebert.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby D. Soirez; two sons, Gerald “Paul” Soirez and David “Vincent” Benoit; two sisters, Almie Touchet and Lillian Schexnider; and his parents, Odes and Elodie Soirez.

Funeral services for Joe will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry.  Burial will follow at Hackberry Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur from 5-8 PM with a rosary at 6:30.  Visitation will resume Tuesday at the church in Hackberry from 9 AM until the time of service.
