Joseph L. "Joe" Clark, 64, of Port Arthur, TX, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 in a Texas healthcare facility.
Mr. Clark was born and raised in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Opelousas High School and Louisiana Tech University where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He worked most of his life in Industrial Coating, having worked his younger years locally for Carboline Company. He worked many years in Southeast Texas, most recently, with Brock Enterprises. He was a Certified NACE Coating Inspector. Mr. Clark was a leader of his Community Neighborhood Watch Program. He enjoyed duck hunting and shrimping with friends during his younger years and was an avid golfer.
Mr. Clark, "affectionately known as Pops", loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be most remembered as hardworking and for his work ethics.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 38 years, Vicki Whitlow Clark of Port Arthur, TX; one daughter, Allison Clark Thompson and husband Jerry of Groves, TX; one son, Adam Forrest Clark and wife Jennifer of Port Arthur, TX; his mother, Jewell Clark Dore of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Tyler and Megan Thompson of Groves, TX, Gabrielle, Charles and Scarlett Clark of Port Arthur, TX; one sister, Brenda Brinkman and husband Gary; two step-brothers, Wayne Dore and wife Dena and Wade Dore and wife Sandy and many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Clark, II and brother, James R. Clark, III.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Greg Schwartz will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
