Joseph Leo Citizen, Sr., 70, departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Joseph was a resident of Lake Charles, LA for 48 years. Joseph retired as an oiler from Himont Basell after 30 years. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Cursillo #78. He was a Eucharistic Minister for 17 years and an altar server for 15 years. His hobbies were going to Church daily, spending time with his family, watching movies, and listening to music. He will be remembered as a loving, loyal, and giving person.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his beautiful loving wife, Mary Citizen of 50 years; three sons, Joseph Leo Citizen, Jr. (Stephanie) of Lake Charles, Timothy Paul (Tyler) of Alexandria, and Hilton Bellard (Vanessa) of Crowley, one daughter, Yolanda Citizen-Dumas (David) of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Linda Citizen-Francois (Clyde) of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Shayla Citizen, Ejahz and Hayle Dumas, Thaddeaus Paul, Shatyra Bellard-Pitre, Tonjaneka Bellard-Davis, and Shawndrea Bellard; two great grandchildren, Dylon Citizen and Amari Bellard; and also a host of nephews, Nieces, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Lucille Citizen; one brother, Hilton John Citizen; and two sisters, Jean Citizen-Batiste and Joyce Citizen-Goodwin.
Joseph Leo Citizen, Sr. will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Goodly will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Saturday in the funeral home from 7:30 AM until 10:30 AM with a rosary being recited at 8:30 AM.
