Joseph R. "Joe" Henry, 57, of Lake Charles passed away at 4:45 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011 in his residence.
He was a native and life resident of Lake Charles. Joe was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and attended McNeese State University. He worked for over thirty-five years for Kansas City Southern Railroad and also previously owned Henry's Restoration. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Aleis Henry Normand and husband Michael and his son, Joseph Kade Henry all of Lake Charles; two grandsons, Elliot Christopher Joseph Normand, and soon arriving Michael Scott Normand II; his mother and stepfather, Janet and T. C. Hicks; three sisters, Darlene White and husband Wendell, Wanda Morris and husband Charles, and Kara Bertrand; one brother, Paul Henry; his fiance'e, Deborah Nash Dupre and her children, Michael Duhon, Jr. and Lisa, and Trish Perry; Deborah's grandchildren, Chance and Kelsy Duhon, Mariah Perry, and Perrish Roberts; his extended family, Enell Gaspard Nash, Telisa Heard and husband Ferrin, Pete Nash, Dale Nash and wife Phyllis, Dwight Nash and wife Bonita, and Reggie Nash and wife Peggy. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Henry.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM and continue from 9:00 AM until time of services, Thursday, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for expenses.
