Joseph Daley “Johnny” Taylor, 86, of Sulphur passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
He was born in Lafayette, LA and grew up in Eunice, LA. He was a truck driver for Gene Kile Trucking for many years. Joseph enjoyed his “retirement” as a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office crossing guard serving Frasch Elementary for 11 years. He loved fishing and watching westerns. Joseph will be remembered for his deep devotion to his wife and extended family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Mary LeJeune Taylor; nephew, Charlie Taylor and wife Kelly of Gulfport, MS; Goddaughter, Denese LeBouef of Sulphur; and brother-in-law, Homer LeJeune of Eunice, LA.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Taylor, and sister, Mary Jenkins.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Joseph’s caregivers: Christina O’Quain, Cindy Bass, James Istre, Peggie Beard, and Lindsey Blanchard for the wonderful care and compassion during his illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 2PM, Monday, March 17, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of-Sulphur. Deacon Patrick LaPoint will officiate. The burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 am – 2pm Monday with a recitation of the Rosary at 1pm.
