Joseph William Griffith, 61, of Bell City, LA died at 8:45 Pm on Monday, April 9, 2012.


Joe was born July 15, 1950 in Cameron, LA and lived most of his life in the Johnson Bayou area. He was a 1969 graduate of Johnson Bayou High School. He worked as a dispatcher for Transco and Bayroid / Halliburton for a number of years and most recently for Expeditors and Production Services Co, Inc. Joe was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Johnson Bayou, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and cooking and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his generous heart and his "special" personality.


Joe is survived by his daughters, Nichole Haynie and husband Dwayne of Holmwood, LA and Lauren Orazi of Lake Charles; son, Ian Griffith of Johnson Bayou, LA; step-children, Megan Guillory and husband Scott of Bentley, LA, Cheyenne Sandifer and husband Dominique of Johnson Bayou, LA, and Michael Fewell and wife Amanda of Hackberry, LA; brothers, Nathan Griffith and wife Jo of Johnson Bayou, LA, Dennis C. Griffith and wife Michelle of Port Arthur, TX, and Hallie W. Griffith and wife Lisa of Moss Bluff, LA; sisters, Molena Duhon and husband Don of Leroy, LA, Jene' Quinn and husband Kirk of Grand Lake, LA; grandchildren, Conner and Hallie Haynie, Madison Corman, Evan and Gabrielle Guillory, Dallas and Parker Sandifer, and Heidi Fewell; God-children, Bethani Oakman and Wesley Quinn; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, David William and Eula Mae Choate Griffith.


His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
