Joseph Wills McComb, 78, of Lake Charles, LA died, June 27, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born on March 4, 1936 in Bell City, LA to James and Adez McComb. Joseph grew up in Bell City and attended LaGrange School. He retired from the U.S. Airforce after seventeen years service. He worked as a mechanic for Entergy for seventeen years and retired in 1996. He earned the Purple Heart Award for serving his country in the Vietnam War. He is a member of Saint Margaret Catholic Church. He loved watching the history channel and the military channel. Survivors include, loving wife of 30 years, Pauline Richard McComb; one son, John Raphael McComb of Sulphur, LA; one step son, Gregory and wife Wendy Richard of Westlake, LA; three daughters, Zelda East of Lake Charles, Sandra Fertitta and husband Anthony of Lake Charles, and Tonia Stutes of Lake Charles; two stepdaughters, Gwen Tate and husband Dale of Lake Charles, Christine Bergeron Saloom and husband Chris of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Jessica Lominac, Kayla Roshto, Devin Stutes, Brady Stutes, Jamie Richard and wife Alisha, Ashley Broussard and husband AW, Brandi Derouen, and Chelsey Richard; one sister Betty Manuel and husband Calvin of Lake Charles; five great grandchildren, Cade, Austin, Will, Dylan, and Baleigh; Mother in law, Ella Mae Daigle. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph McComb Jr. ; one grandson, Brandon Derouen; two sisters, Anna Flood and Mildred Bergeron. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Cursillo Rosary. Visitation resuming Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Jeff Starkovich will officiate services. A special thanks to Dr. Mir Akbar Khan. Also a special thanks to Gene Poe, Crystal Smith, and Jon Keisha and the entire staff at Harbor Hospice.
