Joyce Cumberland

Joyce Cumberland, 78, passed away at a local hospital, surrounded by her family, on March 2, 2018.

Mrs. Joyce spent her life working alongside her husband in industrial construction all over the country. In her travels she made many good friends and treated everyone as family. She is remembered as a woman with a “servant’s heart” that was a caregiver to many. In 2016 she was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost and so began her journey serving the one true and only living God at the Truth Apostolic Church in Sulphur, LA.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 25 years, Eddie Cumberland; five children, Dowanna Diaz Reeves (Ricky), Dawn Diaz Fontenot, Chad Diaz (Dena), Robbie Cumberland Nelson (Tommy), Eddie Cumberland Jr; son-in-law, James Westbrook; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Westbrook; son-in-law, Joel Fontenot; parents, Louis and Coleste Lanclos; and four brothers.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
