She is preceded in death by her parents and 16 brothers and sisters:  seven half siblings, Ella Romero, Nelwin Trouard, Leah Yawn, Amy Romero, Eva Stoute, Avie Guidry, and Lloyd DeRouen, and nine siblings, Kelly, Frances, John Pharr (J.P.), Milton, Gordon, and William DeRouen and Hannie Delcambre, Bessie Ammons, and Ruby Brown.

She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Daniel John Landry (Deacon), her infant daughter, Nikki Elizabeth Landry, son-in-law, Rob Coe, and great granddaughter, Emma West.

She is survived by her children Gil Landry (Denise) of Maple Valley, Washington, Bart Landry (Sybil) and Dana Coe of Lake Charles, Louisiana, grandchildren, Gilbert, Brad (Margaret), Josh (Meg), Jake Landry, Timothy West (Nicki), Jordan & Andrew Coe and Chris Landry. Great grandchildren Tristan West Jones (Casey), Nadia West, Whitney, Jackson, Violet & Lucy Landry and great-great grandchild Spencer Gray Jones.

Joyce was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She was friendly, warm, accepting and loving. She devoted her life to her husband, Dan, her children and their families. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.  Her home was always open to everyone and filled with wonderful times with family and friends.

Joyce and Daniel were married on September 5, 1949, at St. Margaret by Monsignor George Bodin.  They were faithful members of St. Margaret Catholic Church for over 70 years; she loved and supported Dan in his decision to become a Deacon and his years of service to the church.  They attended daily Mass and were excellent examples in faith, family life, love and acceptance. Joyce faithfully prayed daily, reading her Bible and saying the Rosary.

Joyce was a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Margaret for 27 years. She enjoyed volunteering at the church and being involved, assisted the religious education program, worked faithfully at the food pantry, and supported the Cal Ca Chew Food Festival for many years. She also assisted in the Bereavement Program with food preparation.  Joyce was a Sales Associate of Muller’s Department Store in Lake Charles in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s.

The service will be conducted by Johnson Funeral Home and held at        St. Margaret Catholic Church on Monday, December 13, 2021. Visitation begins at 9:30, a Rosary at 10:30 followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00. Services will be officiated by Monsignor Harry Greig and Monsignor Jace Eskind. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery following the service.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to Evangeline Home Health and Heart of Hospice Palliative Care for their attentive, supportive and loving staff, especially Cassidy and Alicia. They also express heart felt gratitude to the special care givers with LeeAnna’s Caregivers, especially Nika and Alicia.
