Joyce Deville Bennett

Joyce Deville Bennett, 74, of Lake Charles, passed away Wednesday January 8, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Oakdale and a graduate of Oakdale High School. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles and was the secretary for Dr. H. Van Eaton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Bennett, Sr. and her parents, Nolan and Elnora Townley DeVille. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her three children, Kay Bennett, Jack Bennett, Jr., and Jeff Bennett and wife Angela; all of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Emily Walker and husband Josh, Sam Bennett, Chelsea Bennett, Megan Bobbitt, and Aubron Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Harlow Walker; special niece, Tina Bennett; and sister-in-law, Peggy Higgins. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday January 12, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Dr. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
